Guidelines on ‘Using Case Studies an Evaluation Method

Not all impacts can be explored through statistical studies or typical evaluation methods. Sometimes, we need to really zoom in on how things are working on the ground, and how exactly a development or humanitarian intervention is contributing to change. Used correctly, case studies are a truly powerful evaluation method.

In collaboration with Search for Common Ground, Levante created 'Guidelines of Using Case Studies as an Evaluation Method'. This practical document guides program and MEAL teams through the entire process - from deciding whether case studies are appropriate, to designing the research study, collecting data, analysis and report writing.

The resource has developed and published on the Iraqi Knowledge Sharing platform as part of a broader initiative to strengthen the work of organisations working in the Human Rights, Peace-building, Gender-Based Violence and Governance sectors in Iraq.
